What is Demarism?

ᛞᛖᛗᚪ: dēma: judge n.

Demarism is a non-dogmatic belief system, offering guidance and structure for living a fulfilling and meaningful life, even if you aren't sure what to believe in.

A detailed walkthrough of the possibilities, potential judges and conclusions for living a fulfilling life is available here, and the key principles are summarised below.

Three possibilities

When it comes to life after death, there may be three possibilities:

  1. An afterlife already exists for you
  2. An entity advanced and kind enough to transfer human consciousness, already exists.

Every thought you have and action you take, may be being broadcast and judged right now. How would you feel if everyone around you now could see your thoughts and actions? What would you change?

  3. An afterlife will exist for you
  4. In the future, an entity will be advanced enough to manipulate time and transfer human consciousness, and be kind enough to do so.

Identical to the First Possibility, but the entity does not exist yet. It will exist in the future, and need to manipulate time to pull your consciousness. It could be that humanity ultimately becomes the judgement entity, so we must do our best to help ensure this happens.

  5. An afterlife will never exist for you
  6. This entity does not exist now, and either will never exist in the future, or won't be able to manipulate time to reach your lifetime.

Your lifespan is finite - enjoy the incredible opportunity you have been given to experience the world, that only the tiniest proportion of matter gets to enjoy. Be kind to your body and don't sacrifice your own happiness.

Three judges

There may therefore be three potential judges of your thoughts and actions throughout life:

  1. An extraterrestrial entity
  2. This judge exists in the case of the First or Second Possibility, and is most similar to the traditional concept of a deity or god.

  3. A future version of humanity
  4. This judge exists in the case of the Second Possibility, and is a future, advanced, technologically and biologically evolved version of humanity.

  5. Yourself
  6. In the Third Possibility, ultimately you are the only judge of your life.

Four principles

This results in four principles by which you may wish to live your life:

  1. Do kind things
  2. In all Possibilities, you will be either judged or remembered by your actions in life.

  3. For kind reasons
  4. In the First & Second Possibility, the thoughts and motivations behind your actions may become known to all.

  5. For yourself & others
  6. In the Third Possibility, you will not get any more time to enjoy the world than your lifespan.

  7. & help advance humanity
  8. To make the Second Possibility more likely, humanity must endure and become technologically advanced. Where possible, contribute to the continued survival and development of the human race.
